Only first picture above is actual. Pictures below are for reference.
Front side contains a name plate and bubble level. Under the base plate is spring-loaded handle for release the sliding mechanism of the base plate.
The base plate can slide to balance a camera. Left handle secures inclination of the base plate. The bottom numbered ring adjusts tension of horizontal rotation (zero means no any resistance).
Numbered ring to the left adjusts tension of inclination. This mechanism is spring-loaded, so the base plate returns to the middle position being released. Speed of the free return movement depends on this tension parameter as well. The two levers with weight symbols allows to adjust the tension quickly without turning the tension ring (these levers actuate hydro-friction units). But their actual purpose is to adjust the friction units accordingly to the weight of the mounted camera. Bottom handle secures horizontal position.
Red handle releases insertion of the base plate (to attach the insertion to the camera).
The insertion can be mounted in both directions, adding to the balancing range. The sliding part inside serves for securing the camera against turn on the plate (the camera's bottom part should have corresponding hole like Arri).
The operator's handle can be oriented, extended and moved to the left side. The red knob secures the base plate in the middle (not inclined) position. The legs can be extended. Each of them ends with pair sharp pins.
