We made first version of our follow focus. You can see few pictures
below. We tested it, and it works fine though it is not silent (nbut not overly noisy).а You'll not hear it when your camera is running,
most probably.
Why we made this thing? Konvas cameras can't work with other existing 2-side
follow focus units since the 17EP motor installed on Konvas prevent a follow
focus from going close enough to a lens to catch it's gears. So, we took a
Kinor-35 follow focus as a sample, and modified it's design a bit. Now, you can
use our follow focus with most of the movie cameras.
Leading gear is interchangeable. 32 pitch gear is installed. Second one supplied
in the outfit will be 50 pitch. Also, we make 32 pitch gears for standard
Konvas non-geared primes.
The follow focus features removable plastic marking rings on the both knobs.
The unit can be mounted onto 15mm rods with 100mm center-to-center distance. We
adjusted it for our Bridge Plate.
We've made one such Follow Focus, and customer seems to be satisfied. So, now we are taking preorders to make more of them. Please let me know if you need one at $750 price.
