Adapters with M39x0.5 thread
This thread was used as a filter thread on some lenses, and may be marked as E39.
Historically, "E" is taken from the German word "Einschraub-" meaning "threaded", and the different letter was used to distinguish it from the L39 mount thread (M39x26tpi).
Nowadays, many people prefer to think about this "E" as of "fine pitch", since a much more common pitch for filter threads is 0.75mm (especially for threads starting from 43mm and larger).
