In photography a standardized adaption device for the changing of lenses which works independent from the manufacturer is called screw thread or lens thread. Screw threads are the forerunners of the bayonet connectors, which dominate the market nowadays.
In this section you will find step-up rings, step-down rings, pitch converters, all other kinds of adapters with threads.

This device connects parts with different threads, which is very useful in photography. It allows you to switch between lenses independently of the manufacturer. The industry has caught on with the trend of cross-usage of the optics, and now manufacturers include the list of matching lenses for their cameras in the specifications. Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC) is an excellent example of it, they even provide their adapters. It seems like a good bargain. However, for those who are keen on this art and have a significant amount of optics to experiment with, a standard set of lenses may not be enough.
In case when the diameters of the filter and the lens do not match, a thread adapter may do the trick. We have a wide range of options in stock to help you connect the pieces of the puzzle.
Filter thread adapters come in three types:
All in all, filter thread adapters are a great accessories for any photographer looking to expand their creative possibilities without breaking the bank. By investing in high-quality filter thread adapters, photographers can use their existing filters on multiple lenses, and experiment with various filter combinations.
If you are an avid photography enthusiast who enjoys capturing intricate macro shots, then you are likely familiar with enlarger lens adapters. Typically utilized in conjunction with "bellows" - the adjustable extension tubes for macro lenses - these adapters have also been debated by experts as being suitable for infinity focus applications.
At our site, we offer a splendid array of options for universal M42x1 and M39x1 (also known as LTM) threads commonly used for enlarger lenses.
Numerous devices have thread mounts as well. For example, microscopes have a thread size range from 19 mm to 65 mm. If you want to try a non-native objective on your microscope, to capture all the details of a certain cell in the smear, we have adapters for most of the possible thread combinations to do this.
Using a microscope objective in front of a taking camera lens opens another possibility to step into the macrophotography world with low expenses. All you need is an objective in question, and a thread adapter to put this construction together.
Yet another interesting macrophotography approach is reverse mounting of taking lenses. It is when you attach a lens to the camera body in a way that is opposite to its normal orientation. For this, you need a reverse lens filter adapter. Typically, this task can be effortlessly accomplished with lenses ranging from 28 mm to 50 mm. For example, reversing a 28 mm lens can give you up to 3 times magnification. This is a budget-friendly option for those eager to try macrophotography. We have thread adapters for all these applications.
A thread adapter can also connect a lens with a screw thread mount to a camera with bayonet mount. If your goal is to try old cine lenses, you may consider using Kiev-16U lenses on the aforementioned BMPCC camera with MFT mount. Created for professional film-makers in mid 1950-s, these retro lenses help to create a 16 mm movie effect for all cameras with short flange focal distance and small sensor size. They can be used for both still photography and film-making and have been highly sought after since 2013 when we introduced the Kiev-16U to MFT adapter. Like many vintage items produced in the Soviet Union, these lenses have some peculiarities that may cause issues with standard BMPCC adapters. We offer an improved version of a light alloy device that is not only easy to install and remove, but also prevents the accident turn of the lens - not a rare occurrence for vintage lenses with stiff control rings.
Though we have a wide choice of adapters already, there are still some lens/camera combinations that are not covered yet. If you need a special adapter for a rare lens, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we will consider making it from scratch.
Get your thread adapter today, and take your photography skills to new heights!
