The substage 'ST-12' is purposed for use with simple biological microscopes. It serves to move a specimen along two orthogonal axles.
The substage scales allow to determine position with 0.1mm accuracy that makes easy to find marked places again.
The substage has a base with alignment pins to mount it onto a microscope stage. There are also mechanisms for a specimen moving.
Lengthwise movement is accomplished by means of a screw that moves the specimen holding arms (static one and spring-loaded one).
Lateral movement is accomplished by means of a rack-and-pinion mechanism.
It is possible to use standard slides (30x75mm).
